The FL125 Greatest Player voting shortlists were compiled from data submitted by Football League clubs, which was collected from fans through social media. Supporters were asked to submit their suggestions by interacting with their respective clubs through Twitter, using #FL125 and #OurGreatestPlayer.

The nominees were:

Darren Stride - Albion's Captain Fantastic. The midfielder made over 650 appearances in a Brewers career spanning from 1993-2010.

Aaron Webster - Webster brought the curtain down on a terrific Brewers career in the summer after 500+ appearances; the left-back scoring over 100 goals in the process.

Jacques Maghoma - The winger has played more Football League matches than any other Burton player and had a terrific 2012/13 campaign; scoring 17 goals and earning a move to Sheffield Wednesday.

2009/10 - The Brewers' first ever season in The Football League was a success with a 13th-place finish; 18 points clear of the relegation zone and just 10 off the Play-Offs.

2011/12 - The Brewers again survive comfortably in League 2 with a 17th-place finish.

2012/13 - The Brewers are were in the mix for automatic promotion up to the penultimate match of the season; eventually losing out in the Play-Offs.

The nominees were: 

Nigel Clough - Managed the Brewers for over a decade and masterminded the club's promotion to the Football League in 08/09; leaving the side 13 points clear at the top of the Blue Square Premier before taking over at Derby in 2009.

Gary Rowett - Took over from Paul Peschisolido as caretaker manager in March 2009 before guiding the Brewers to safety. In his first full season in charge, Rowett led Burton to 4th place and a Play-Off place; the club's highest-ever League finish.

Paul Peschisolido - Secured the Brewers' Football League status following promotion in in 08/09 with 13th and 19th placed finishes in 09/10 and 10/11, before being replaced by Gary Rowett after a difficult 2011/12 campaign.
